prepare the subfloor. Ensure it is clean, dry, and level. Remove any debris, dust, or moisture. If there are any uneven areas, use a leveling compound to create a smooth surface. A well-prepared subfloor is crucial for a successful installation and long-lasting flooring.

acclimate the SPC flooring. Place the flooring in the room where it will be installed for at least 48 hours. This allows the material to adjust to the room's temperature and humidity, preventing any expansion or contraction issues after installation.

Next, 

lay the underlayment. Although SPC flooring often comes with an attached underlayment, in some cases, an additional layer is recommended for extra insulation and soundproofing. Ensure the underlayment is laid out evenly across the subfloor.

Then, 

start the installation. Begin in one corner of the room, placing the first plank with the tongue side facing the wall. Use spacers to maintain an expansion gap of about 1/4 inch between the flooring and the wall. Connect the planks by inserting the tongue into the groove at a slight angle and pressing down. Continue this process, staggering the seams for a natural look.

Finally, 

install the trim and moldings. Once all the planks are laid, remove the spacers and install the baseboards and transition strips to cover the expansion gaps and give the floor a finished appearance.
